Welcome Josh McClenney

We’re excited to welcome Josh McClenney as our new Atlantic Coast Program Officer. Josh (he/him) is an organizer and advocate with deep knowledge of energy policy. As Atlantic Coast program officer, he will manage the Hive Fund’s grantmaking in a region poised for a renewable energy transition that is home to some of the nation’s dirtiest coal-fired power plants and most intransigent utilities seeking to expand methane gas infrastructure. In previous roles with the Appliance Standards Awareness Project and Appalachian Voices he worked as an organizer to pass key energy efficiency legislation and advocated for democratic reforms to North Carolina’s energy system. He earned a master’s degree in Appalachian studies from Appalachian State University, and a bachelor’s from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A North Carolina native, he enjoys coaching handball, and can be found at the nearest outdoor concert.
